The biography Ayimkhan Kazimbetova (Shamuratova)

The passionate interest to the poetry and stage art about Ayimkhan Shamuratova have been aroused since her childhood. Being a little girl she greedily sings Karakalpak folk songs, tunes and melodies, becoming folk songs by the poems of Karakalpak poets- classics, begins alone with herself, and then at the presence of the audience selflessly performs them. The Authentic experts and art judges at that time managed to make out in a young singer a holder of the unique talent, a person of natural gifts, predicted her a big stage future .
Ayimkhan Shamuratova (Kazimbetova) was born in 1917 in Kanlykul region, the village №7 in a family of a poor peasant. She early lost her father. Her father also took "dutar" in his hands during his life and performed the folk songs.
She was invited to the stage of Kungrad collective farm theatre, where she sang songs being still a 10-12- year old girl. On leaving the primary school she went to study in Turtkul (the former capital of Karakalpakstan). As her mother was against her acting on the scene, she entered the Teachers training courses. Once, when she visited the town theatre, where Abdiraman Otepov performed on the scene, she in a moment decided to become and actress and remained at the theatre. Her first tutor and teacher was Abdiraman Otepov. He was a founder of the first Karakalpak theatre. Being a playwright, a director and a producer, he collected the actors, people for the theatre, arranged the accommodation and food, persuaded the women, as at that time Muslim clergy frantic was up in arms against all new, so when particularly girls had to pave the hard way to a new life. In Uzbekistan many fathers and brothers killed their own sisters and daughters for that they took off a national women's long veil "paranja". Karakalpak girls did not wear these veils, but, anyway, appearance on a stage–is a deed of a fearless small girl, paved the way to anew life, without being afraid of appearing on a stage for the first time.
The first her role was a play of Seyfulgabit Madjitov "Bagdagul", where she acted the leading part Bagdagul. She performed this role so finely that she had been called Bagdagul for a long time. She has played a great number of another roles.
In 1936 she went to Moscow to be recorded on All-Union radio and gramophone records. She has performed the folk songs "Bozatau", "Aksingu'l", "Chimbay" and etc. on air. These cantos were also recorded on a vinyl record disk. There in Moscow she got acquainted with young Amet Shamuratov, the future husband, who was studying in Moscow. Then, they got married in a few years. In the play of Kamil Yashen "Gulsara" Ayimkhan played one interesting story of Gulsara's mother Aysara, where the young girl took off the veil "yashmak", for what father causes to her knife wound, but Aysara's mother protects her daughter and a knife hits her. A young academician Sagitov was present at this time in the theatre and wrote an article about the play in the newspaper. In a month this newspaper reached to the village of Ayimkhan. Having read the newspaper Ayimkhan's mother began to wail and ordered her son, brother of Ayimkhan, to slaughter a bull-calf and bring the body of Ayimkhan to her native village. In 3-4 days Ayimkhan's the brother had hardly reached Turtkul and came to the theatre, where the play was on and saw his alive little sister. He screamed: "Ayimkhan-my sister" and run up to the stage. They embraced and greeted one another. All spectators got up and applauded them. From that day mother of Ayimkhan Biybazhar blessed her daughter.

For the long years of a 60-year scenic activity at the theatre of musical drama and comedy Ayimkhan Shamuratova succeeded in creating more than 100 valuable female images. The play "Bagdagul" by Seyfulgabit Madjitov, "Gulsara" by Kamil Yashen, "Begjapskaya tragedy" by L.Tilegenov, Gulparshin from a musical drama "Alpamis" by N.Davrakaraev, "Raushan" from the same name musical drama by J.Aymurzaev and T.Allanazarov, Shakhsanem from a lyrical musical drama "Garip ashik" (The Enamored Garip) by A.Begimov, T.Allanazarov, Tolganay from a heroic drama "a Maternal field" by Ch.Aytmatova, and also she skillfully performed the roles of the women of Kazakh, Uzbek, Russian, Turkmen, Azerbaijan and many other peoples of former republics of CIS.
The Geography of longstanding trips of the famous singer and actress Ayimkhan Shamuratovago out far beyond the limits of the republic. She represented the Karakalpak theatrical art with dignity on a stage of well-known theatres of Moscow, St.Petersburg, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan etc.
She participated in all two-week days of culture of Uzbekistan.
Ayimkhan Shamuratova passed through a wonderful school of the highly experienced and excellent directors, composers and conductors.
The talented Karakalpak directors Tolek Saribaev, Abdiraman Otepov, Yuldash Sharipov, Yuldash Mamutov, Toresh Allanazarov, Najimatdin Ansatbaev the Kazakh directors of the Lobsters, Azerbaijan Mambetov, Azerbaijan director Asanov, Uzbek Zuxur Kabulov, Djavad Abidov, Nizamatdinov, Russian directors Igor Osokin and G.Abdulov.
G.Abdulov the father of the actor Aleksandr Abdulov, who had been living with their family in Nukus for a long time, was a director of the Karakalpak theatre, has done very much for the prosperity of the Karakalpak theatre, cared for the actors and for a very long time after his departure had been sending congratulatory cards to Ayimkhan Shamuratova. All these directors carefully have accustomed her to the secrets of professional actor's scenic art. In mastering by fine points of musical art of singing Ayimkhan Shamuratova, as a vocalist, was provided by the efficient help by famous composer, such as V.Shafrannikov, I.Kompanees, Kozlovs, I.Xalimov, F.Nazarov, M.Nasimov etc.
During the Great Patriotic war she has brought an important contribution by that she with two s babies: a 1942- birth daughter Zukhra and a 1943- birth daughter Ziyada, was a head of propaganda team and went together with a group of the actors in a cold and hot weather, without any means of transport about the countryside and collected some money for the battle plane. The acting skills of Ayimkhan Shamuratova represents a compact combination of the leading traditions of the Karakalpak national music and modern vocal art.
Continually working at her perfection of the acting skills, becoming proficient in the best achievements of foreign and Karakalpak leading theatrical art, getting used to created scenic images, Ayimkhan Shamuratova has managed to rise up to a level of a real star of Karakalpak theatrical art and musical culture, the national pride of Karakalpak people.
The priceless contribution she has made to the needy actors in gaining of accommodation, and also has educated a plenty of the actors.
She also took an active participation in the public life of republic since 1948 for 1967, during two years she had been selected as a deputy of Nukus Urban Council of national deputies, and twice as a deputy of the Supreme Council of Republic Karakalpakstan.
For the significant contribution to the development of Karakalpak theatrical and musical art A.Shamuratova was repeatedly honoured with the higher governmental awards and honorary title. So in 1940 she was awarded the status of National artist of Karakalpakstan.
In 1950 she was awarded the status of National artist of Uzbek USSR, but in 1968 she was awarded to a higher status of "National artist" of USSR as a symbol of her national recognition, so she became a unique artist in Karakalpakstan who received this award. She was also awarded with an award of "Labour fame", an award "A symbol of honour", an award "For excellent labour" and was twice awarded to an award "Maternal fame".
When her husband Amet Shamuratov died in 1953, he was only 41 years old, and A.Shamuratova was 36. She became a widow with 7 children, the youngest Ayimgul was only a month. She brought up all of them and set them on their feet, everybody has a higher education: the elder daughter Shamuratova Gulistan (1937) is an Honoured Figure of Karakalpakstan and a poetess.

Shamuratova Guljaxan (1939)-is the deserved teacher of Karakalpakstan, a teacher of a higher category, had worked as a school headmaster for many years.
Shamuratova Zuxra (1942-1996)-had worked for many years as a teacher of geography at the Insitute name dafter Nizami in Tashkent.

Shamuratov Berdimurat (1946-2012).-had worked as an assistant of the chairman of Minister Council of Karakalpakstan and a manager of the department.
Shamuratova Zulfiya - associate professor and a teacher of the foreign literature at Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named by Ajiniyaz.
Shamuratova Ayimgul is an English teacher and director of the museum "Amet and Ayimkhan Shamuratova".
In 2004 on a day of the 13th anniversary of Independence of Uzbekistan A.Shamuratova was honoured posthumously to an award "For the significant merits to Fatherland".
This award the President of Republic of Uzbekistan I.A.Karimov has presented to the daughter and director of the museum Ayimgul Shamuratova.
Ayimkhan Shamuratova acted a lot of female images with different destinies at the theatre, she has deserved the national glory, but there was a lot of joyful and a lot of sorrowful moments in her real life.
